Evolved from Folding Scissors, DIY Scissors were created especially for the main exhibition of the 5th Tallinn Applied Art Triennial, “KNOW HOW Tallinn 2009”. The exhibition aimed to cast light on the relationships between the artist/designer professional skills and the consumer/audience. It rejects the production-oriented perspective of design.
A manual that explains how to re-create the item is an integral part of the design.
